Satoshi Osawa

satoshi1.jpg One of the famous guests is Mr. Satoshi Osawa from Japan. He is arriving on 21st of July in Munich, Germany, and shall be staying until beginning of August. He will be performing at a concert on the 24th in Düsseldorf, Germany. (Poster)

Satoshi Osawa studied the saxophone at the Kunitachi-Musichighschool, in Tokyo, Japan. During his studying he began to learn the ocarina. From then on, he played the ocarina in many concert halls all over Japan, including Sutory Hall, the Tokyo Opera, City, Sumida Tripony Hall, Toyota City Concert Hall and Mielparque Osaka-Hall. In June 2008 he played at Ise-Jingu - one of the most holy Places in Japan.

In 2006 he played a solo concert in Italy.
In 2007 he played as special guest for the Ocarina Festival in Budrio, Italy.

In May 2008 he was working together with the Noble Ocarina Company in Korea, developing the 'Osawa Noble' double ocarina, sold on their website.

In 2008 he got a prize at the International Art Association Music Awards.
He also won the prize of the Tokyo Summit Music Competition.

In 2009 he was playing on the special event The Sympony of Fire and Clay in Taipai, Taiwan. Hosted by Focalink, a DVD of the event is available on their website.
Satoshi Osawa is a member of the Japan International League of Artists.
Satoshi is thought to be one of the greatest ocarina players by many players and makers.

satoshi2.jpg Yumiko Shirakami is the pianist who accompanies Osawa.
She began playing the piano at the age of five. From 1981 onwards, she was taught by the concert pianist Ms. Masayo Naruse. In 1993 she began studying the piano at the music school Kunitachi, in Tokyo, Japan. She schooled with Haruko Shiba. In 2000, she went to Essen in Germany to study Piano with Professor Ludger Maxsain at the Folkwang Highschool of Music.
Since 2003, she has resumed life in Japan. She often plays with Osawa. In 2009 she attended The Sympony of Fire and Clay alongside Osawa, as his accompanying pianist.
